Sri Lanka Floods Appeal
Several days of intense rain have swept across Sri Lanka, flooding vast regions of the country. According to official reports, over 400 people have died and many hundreds more remain missing.
Tens of thousands of homes have been destroyed, forcing hundreds of thousands of people into state-run shelters. For a people so dependent on agriculture, the destruction of homes, livelihoods and crops has been catastrophic. The food stocks of whole towns have been wiped out.

‘Give charity even if it be one date; as this will stop the hunger of the hungry person and will extinguish sin the way water extinguishes fire.’ (Al Zuhd, Ibn Al Mubarak)
Ummah Welfare Trust has a long history of responding to floods in South Asia. But this year’s floods in Sri Lanka — triggered by an unprecedented cyclone — are among the worst in recent memory.
Support the charity’s urgent appeal by donating what you can. With tens of thousands of homes destroyed and more than a hundred thousand people displaced, families urgently need food and hygiene supplies.
It is our duty to help them. Please donate what you can: your support can help save lives and restore hope to those who have lost everything.
