Ummah Welfare Trust has linked up with fundraising platforms such as JustGiving to provide you with an easy and effective way to collect sponsors and money for your own fundraising campaigns.
With Ummah Welfare Trust, every single pound we receive through fundraising platforms, such as JustGiving and Givebrite, is allocated towards a fundraiser’s intended project.

Set up your fundraising page
Once your page is complete, you can forward the page’s address to family, friends and colleagues. They will then be able to donate online with a credit or debit card.
Fundraising on JustGiving?
It takes just five minutes to set up your own web page on JustGiving. Log on to www.justgiving.com/uwt and follow the instructions to build your page.
Fundraising on GiveBrite?
If you would like to raise funds for Ummah Welfare Trust through GiveBrite, please follow the steps below.

Step 1 – Access GiveBrite
Click the GiveBrite fundraising link: https://uwt.givebrite.com/

Step 2 – Log in or create an account
Click “Login” in the top right corner.
If you do not already have a GiveBrite account, follow the instructions to create a new account.

Step 3 – Enter your details
When creating your account, please enter your own details, including:
- Your full name
- Your email address (auto-filled)
- A password
Please ensure that the name and email address you use are correct, as these details will be used to identify your fundraising page.

Step 4 – Start your fundraiser
Once you have logged in, select either:
- “Fundraise with AI” in the top right corner.
- “Fundraise from Scratch”.

Step 5 – Complete your fundraising page
GiveBrite will ask you to provide information about your fundraiser.
Please ensure you include the following:
UWT Project
Clearly state which UWT project you are raising funds for.
If you are fundraising for a fixed-price project, such as a masjid or water well, we recommend mentioning a contingency project. This ensures that all contributors are aware of how their donations may be used if the fundraising target is not reached.
For example:
“The full cost of constructing a masjid in Afghanistan is £30,000. If this target cannot be met, the donations will, inshaAllah, be used towards the next most affordable masjid or water project.”
If a backup is not stated, the funds may have to go towards the originally intended project, not funding a full unit, but the general donation pool. In this case, plaque personalisation and feedback reports will not be available.

How Your Gift Aid is Handled
- GiveBrite
- Gift Aid claimed through this platform will be used for administration purposes like other Gift Aid donations.
- JustGiving
- Gift Aid for any donation through JustGiving will go towards the intended project, minus the deduction of any administration fees by the platform.
- GoFundMe
- Gift Aid for any donation is receipted as a donation for Most Needed as Sadaqah.
Fundraising for a Full Item
Ummah Welfare Trust aims to spend every donation within 12 months. If you’re fundraising for a specific construction project, such as a masjid or water well, and intend to sponsor an entire unit, please be aware that there is a 12-month fundraising window. After this time, your funds will be directed towards your chosen project.
If the full unit cost is met within 12 months, the project will be added to the construction queue and completed within its specified timeframe, inshaAllah.
If the collected funds are not sufficient to fund a whole unit after 12 months, they will go into your chosen project’s general pool, which supports community-funded units and covers shortfalls – personalisation and feedback will not apply in this case.
Alternatively, if the donations are enough to fund a different, lower cost construction project (subject to availability), they can be redirected accordingly; however, this option will only be available if the fundraising page clearly informs contributors from the start that their donations may go to a fallback project if the target isn’t met.
