Mauritania and the wider Sahel region has suffered repeated droughts in the past decade, worsening the lives of an overwhelmingly poor and agriculturalist population that survives on less than $2 a day.

To support their sacrifices, Ummah Welfare Trust regularly provides food and financial assistance to madrassahs, students and teachers, alhamdulillah.
