Suffering in Kabul’s Slums

Ummah Welfare Trust UK in Afghanistan

Afghan trip

Ummah Welfare Trust’s UK team landed in Afghanistan recently to overlook some of the relief efforts taking place across all 34 provinces of the country, alhamdulillah

The first project involved visiting injured civilians who receive regular support from the charity.

We met Hafizullah, a young father of 6 children, who lost the use of his legs and abdomen after being shot by thieves who attempted to rob him.

Unable to work or walk, he relies on his 12-year-old son to earn for the family. He, however, earns just 50p a day. The family’s rent is £50 per month, which is impossible to meet, leaving them in arrears and in debt.

Hafizullah’s harrowing situation is just a small window into the terrible suffering that decades of war has unleashed here.

Alhamdulillah, today, he is one of a thousand injured Muslims receiving regular support from Ummah Welfare Trust.

Reach more innocents like him by reaching into your pocket and donating to Ummah Welfare Trust’s ongoing Afghanistan appeal.
