Sadaqatul Fitr

Sadaqatul Fitr is a compulsory charity due before Eid, purifying the fast and supporting those in need.

Pay Your Sadaqatul Fitr

An Important Obligation

Giving Sadaqatul Fitr (also referred to as Zakatul Fitr or Fitrana) on the day of Eid was a practice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and it has been ordained for us all. Like Zakat, it establishes bonds of unity between the rich and the poor.

To cover the various ahadith mentioning the different commodities pertaining to Sadaqatul Fitr, Ummah Welfare Trust is giving donors the option of deciding how much Sadaqatul Fitr to give.

DATES

The Prophet ﷺ declared the payment of Sadaqatul Fitr as obligatory; it purifies the fasting person from any indecent act or speech, and is a source of feeding the poor.

ABU DAWUD

An Important Obligation

Every person eligible to pay any of these amounts must pay not only for himself but also for his dependants, such as his children. If after knowing the Shari’i amount a person wishes to give more, then he can do so inshaAllah.

Ummah Welfare Trust will distribute your Sadaqatul Fitr to poor families for Eid day inshaAllah. By ensuring that Sadaqatul Fitr reaches those in need before the Eid prayer, we help enable disadvantaged families to celebrate Eid with dignity and joy.

This timely act of charity completes the fast of Ramadhan and allows the less fortunate to share in the blessings of the day.
