Sa'ad ibn Ubadah RadiAllahu ‘anhu asked the Prophet Muhammad Salallahu ‘alaihi wasallam, ‘Umm Sa'ad (his mother) has died; what form of Sadaqah (charity) is best?’

He Salallahu ‘alaihi wasallam replied, ‘Water (is best).’

Sa'ad dug a well and said, ‘It is for Umm Sa'ad.’
