Lack of access to safe drinking water disproportionately impacts poor communities. The resulting disease, lost income, and wasted time have devastating effects on families. Water-borne illnesses are among the leading causes of childhood mortality worldwide.

Increasing access to clean water remains a pressing challenge globally. Ummah Welfare Trust aims to help address this need by drilling deep water wells in under-served communities internationally.

These sustainable deepwater wells offer users a reliable, long-term source of potable water for years to come. In rural areas, they serve as a lifeline by potentially being the sole supply of safe water. The wells bring convenience, health benefits, and improved quality of life for both children and adults.

If you have fully funded the construction of a well, you can choose a phrase of up to 30 characters (excluding sacred words such as Qur’anic Aayat, hadeeth etc, to preserve sanctity) to apply to its plaque, and a construction report will be provided (via email unless otherwise indicated) upon completion, inshaAllah.
Construction typically takes up to 12 months, unless otherwise indicated.
If you wish to fully fund a well through instalments, please note that full payment must be donated within one year – the final donation must be received within 12 months of the first instalment. Construction will begin following the final instalment.

Helping to build a well creates a profound Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity) legacy for you or the one on whose behalf you donate. The ongoing rewards you will receive for helping to provide clean water include, but are not limited to:
