Kidz 4 Kidz

Last year, as part of its emergency response to floods in Pakistan and drought in Somalia, Ummah Welfare Trust launched a nationwide fundraising campaign for schoolchildren in the UK. Called ‘Kidz 4 Kidz’, the campaign encouraged schoolchildren across the UK to raise money for one week and help provide Eid Gifts to displaced children in Pakistan and Somalia.

The campaign was a great success. An amazing £182,000 was raised thanks to the children’s efforts. From overcrowded camps in Somalia to flood plains in Pakistan, thousands of children embraced new gifts and clothes; their mothers watched on, happy and amazed that strangers from so far away had remembered them.

Now an annual campaign, Ummah Welfare Trust aims to do the same again this year and is inviting schools and madrassahs to take part.

Fundraising by pupils will take place between the 5th and 15th of October this year. Every participant will received a unique collection box and raise money for 10 days. The deadline is the 15 th, the day which teachers will collect the boxes.

The money pupils raise will be used to purchase gifts for children in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Gifts will be in the form of clothing, toys and food. These will handed out to children on the day of Eid ul-Adha.

We would love to see your school take part. The deadline is the 21st of September. Last year, school children displayed a generosity and selflessness that belied their tender ages as they sought to help their fellow children. We hope to see a similar response again this year and hope you can be a part of this.
