Ghouta Crisis Appeal

Nowhere in Syria is there more at stake today than in the Damascus suburb of Ghouta. As the world watches, over 400,000 civilians here are being massacred through massive shelling and airstrikes.

Ghouta has been under siege since 2013 and has suffered the worst brutalities in Syria's war. Cluster munitions, incendiary strikes and chemical weapons have all been dropped here, leaving thousands of widows and orphans as a result.

The crimes and suffering have now moved to a stage beyond words. In just the past 24 hours, over 200 civilians have been killed in targeted strikes. Warplanes are currently attacking everything that hasn't been destroyed.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
'The blood of a Muslim is worth more than the Ka'aba and all of its surroundings.'
    [Ibn Majah]

Despite the tragedies, you can still help our brothers and sisters. Ummah Welfare Trust has launched an emergency appeal to help families in Ghouta with cooked food and medical aid. The charity is able to transfer money inside to fieldworkers who are delivering assistance.

Ummah Welfare Trust has been active in Ghouta for several years, supporting six schools and giving monthly support to hundreds of widows and orphans.

The charity needs your help now more than ever. Donate generously for this appeal and help our brothers and sisters to see better days.

Please choose the project 'Syria Emergency' when donating.
