Syria Appeal in Honour of Aishah R.A.

Following 4 months of endless bombings, siege and torment, East Aleppo's families are finally being allowed to leave, alhamdulillah. We ask Allah to make today's respite for our brothers and sisters a permanent one.

Sadly Aleppo's events brings into sharp focus the terrible suffering that Syrian families have endured. As believers, we should respond with the following:

    1.Istighfaar
Countless lives have been destroyed before our eyes and much istighfaar is needed from us. We ask Allah to forgive us for having not doing enough in Syria and elsewhere across the Ummah in these last years.

    2. Du'a
We must also continue making du'a to Allah Most Merciful. The prescribed Sunnah times should be used to make du'a for the Ummah. The last third of the night, in sujood, on Friday, and between Adhaan and Iqamah are best for this.

    3. Sadaqah
As we watch families evacuate Aleppo, a new enemy: winter, has arrived. Skies which brought so much death and destruction now bring freezing winds and rain.

Ummah Welfare Trust has launched an emergency appeal to keep Syria's weary families warm this winter. Dedicated to Ummul Mu'mineen 'A'ishah RadhyAllahu anh, the campaign will deliver blankets, food, clothing, and more, to Aleppo's evacuees as well as other families across Syria.

The beloved wife of the Messenger of Allah, and the Mother of the Believers, 'A'ishah was from the most generous of the Companions. May Allah have mercy on her, she was so generous that she would receive a hundred thousand dirhams in the morning while fasting, and before evening passed would distribute it all to the poor.

Ummah Welfare Trust is encouraging donors to follow in her footsteps this winter by donating generously for the items below.

Alhamdulillah, Ummah Welfare Trust has spent over £8 million in Syria this past year bringing relief to over 1 million civilians. The terrible war however means that the needs of our brothers and sisters still need to be met.

Starting this winter, let us use the examples of our beloved mother, 'A'ishah RadhyAllahy 'anh, to inspire us in bringing warmth to families here this winter.
